Waterville day 1: The Ironman's House

A soft day ie murk and mizzle but not bad enough to hinder explorations. We wandered around Ballinskelligs, mooched in ancient humpy graveyards, sought out the Well of the Fair Women and dried to find another well dedicated to St Gobnait. This was supposedly opposite this delightful old house, complete with piglets in the garden. We didn't find the well on this occasion but came back the next day and met two women feeding the piglets and heard the full story. One had inherited the house on the death of the Ironman, so named  because he did indeed enter those mad and gruelling hardcore competitions. She was hoping to do it up at some point. The well was on her land and she had no idea it was there so a lot of chat went on.
