Compton Verney Meadow (Wildflowerweek21_13)

A lazy morning followed by a walk around the wildflower meadow at Compton Verney.  Lots of yellow rattle coming up but the whole lot looks quite battered by the recent heavy rain. We do have a more settled weather forecast for the next week, so I suppose it will recover.   There was enough of a breeze to make it difficult to get two shots I could stack to get both the flowers and the house in focus. (this is possibly Meadow Cranesbill)
A more general view in the extra.

Edit: I should be honest and admit it was Gill's idea to find a view with the house in the background.

In the past this area was a formal garden - so perhaps the original owners would have thought of this as wildflowers in an unusual setting?

Inside the building some of the gallery spaces are now open and there are a couple of exhibitions on.   We were very impressed by Rebecca Louise Law's Seasons.  A series of spaces each filled with dried flowers suspended from the ceiling and depicting the four seasons.

Well worth seeing if you are in the area.
