Life in Sunny Dubai

Amazing Spaces

It's Sunday and G's timetable has changed as Davide is no longer in school. She only had to be in for one lesson at 12:15. I dropped her off but in the end, she didn't even need to be in for that, so I picked her up much earlier than expected.

We drove straight to Wafi where we met up with Gordon & Susan for lunch and coffee. We then came home for a few hours before I saw them again, this time to show them a few sights. G couldn't join us because we are not allowed more than three in a car, and she also had her Zoom call with Geneva!

G&S enjoyed driving on MBR Boulevard, the Dubai Fountain, the Waterfall, Fashion Avenue (my blip) and the Aquarium!! We had dinner in a restaurant close to the fountain so they could see as many shows as possible!

Sadly, it was soon time to get them back to their hotel for their very early start. Gordon said that just the flying time was nineteen hours. I honestly could not contemplate being on a plane that long. Fortunately, the 300+ economy cabin has only 80 passengers.

And in the morning, before anything else happened, G saw the gardeners come to finish pruning the eucalyptus tree. Her effort last Tuesday paid off. The guys did not have safety shoes or a helmet, but they did have a very extendable ladder which saved loads of time (and effort). Update 27/6/21... I've now posted a record as an extra.
