In a Japanese garden

It’s always a pleasure to visit the Japanese garden near Dollar and this afternoon we had a chance to see it for the first time this year. ( see extra)
 
How do they manage to keep it in serious immaculate condition? It’s a question I put to one gardener. 
 “ I spend seven and a half hours weeding,” he said.
“Aren’t you bored?” ( after half an hour of weeding I am fed up.)
He shook his head.
“ No, it’s relaxing. I listen to podcasts.”
