Sewingshields Crags

An orienteering event on Hadrian's Wall attracted us into Northumberland. The wall goes along the top ridge in the distance - Sewingshields Crags.  Lots of history here, not just Hadrian's Wall but in the valley, where we were orienteering, once stood Sewingshields Castle associated with King Arthur legends.  Interesting, I had not realised he got this far north.  From the trig on the high point on the crag we could see at least 60 miles in all directions and The Wall disappearing over the hills   Cream tea at Lanercost Priory on the way back
