Tulip Tree

Happy Summer Solstice
I love this magnificent tree in the Valley Gardens. I watch it every year, waiting, and today I’m happy to see it flowering. Somewhere at a level I don’t know or understand I have a sense of connection to this tree - to the past - it’s, moving, poignant, visceral - and beautiful - hard to put words to the sense of continuity and connection that it gives me - it moves me to tears.
I need to say more. My great grandfather was a landscape gardener here in - I think - about 1907 - there’s a connection both to my roots and to nature that seem to have found a synthesis in this tree - I love it!
