Tiny pink prunus blossoms

I first spotted these tiny pink prunus blossoms on yesterday's wet romp in Sydney Park, growing in the community garden. By today, many of the flowers had been trashed by the wind and rain, but in any case they are on their way out as evidenced by the tiny nectarines beginning to appear.

I believe that this is a very early flowering for such a tree.
