My own eyes try to sleep, but they don't. They stay wide awake as time snarls forward and silence drops down, like measured thought.

I haven't slept well.
I haven't slept well for a long time.
But I think I also have an eye infection.
Maybe just a touch of the old conjunctivitis.
Not helped by a pretty over emotional week with tears.
So, these eye drops and I (eye) are about to get pretty well acquainted.
