Mull village

Off for a few days to Mull today. Caught the lunchtime ferry and after the usual uneventful 45 minute voyage went ashore at Craignure and hopped on the bus for the hour or so drive to Bunessan. Single track almost all the way, so many stops and starts, not helped by the fact that many oncoming tourists don't help by zooming past their nearest layby and on several occasions forcing the bus to reverse, which I thought was pretty rude.

I walked up to the flat and dumped my gear, then spent the afternoon walking around the harbour, visiting the wildflower patch and new community veg plot as well as having several chats with folk and taking numerous photographs! Rather nice to be able to wander about watching the wildlife and not feeling under pressure to do anything in particular! Got shouted at by some oyster catchers who would have been better keeping quiet as all they do is draw attention to themselves!

My travel costs were very moderate - from my door to door, a return ferry crossing and a return bus journey, all for £7.60. Bargain of the year!
