The Grand (de)Tour

We were warned yesterday by Tony the bus man that Yarmouth wasn’t so great…he was right!

It was a ghost town. I guess we are used to our local seaside town (Blackpool) always being rammed, so it was strange to see a place so quiet.

We had a lovely meal before hitting the arcades. Mr A had £1.50 in his pocket which he swapped for 2p pieces and we blew the lot on the coin drop machines. We won a packet of pencils (coloured no less), a mini roll of love heart sweets and a ninja turtle figure don’t ask me which one. Mr A also got loads of tickets from the machines which he gifted to another couple.

This morning we woke to glorious sunshine and although there was still a bit of a breeze, it was nice to have a dry day.

We’ve tried as best as possible to follow the coastal roads from Great Yarmouth to Skegness, stopping at various places on the way (Cromer, Sheringham, Stiffkey & Kings Lynn, to name a few).

We made a few detours; the first of which was to Mundesley, to see the beach huts in today’s blip.

It was a tough choice when deciding on today’s photo as the huts were my original plan. Then, as we travelled through the Norfolk countryside, we saw the most amazing field full of poppies. We stopped there for me to take some photos and Mr A flew his drone over as well, although the red disappeared the higher he flew. He’s still got some spectacular footage though.
I decided to stick with the huts as it’s a more ‘seasidey’ photo and that’s been the theme of this trip.

Tonight is the last night of our road trip, but we are ending it in a very nice hotel.
The plan for tomorrow is to have a better look round ‘Skeggy’ before driving home.

Thanks for all your comments, hearts and stars so far, I’ll catch up with replies and your blips once we are back home :-)
