Besotted by Banksias

I have been overdosing on Banksias this week. The local Wallum Banksias are still in full flower and I couldn't resist trying a panorama.

I became a Banksia enthusiast during my 10 years as a volunteer guide in the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. And earlier when we lived in Western Australia for a time.  Although there are some lovely Banksias in the eastern states of Australia, they reach true glory in the West. Today's extra shows Scarlet Banksia (B. coccinea) growing in the Fitzgerald River National Park in the south west of WA.
