War Horse?

I decided on a jaunt today. Marian was out with her girlfriends to some shopping outlet or other and it was a lovely day. I decided I would go to Ditsworthy Warren Farm, it's over the far side of the moor near Burrator Reservoir. I've been there once before, quite a few years ago when I was doing occasional walks with Will, a  colleague from work after we'd both retired. When I saw it I thought it was wonderful. I wanted to take some pictures but there were squaddies all over it so we moved on. The next time I saw it was a few years later in the opening scenes of 'Warhorse' because the derelict farmhouse became the location where Albert and Joey the horse meet and form such a bond before the horse is commandeered and taken off to the Great War.

It's Wide Wednesday (hosted by BobsBlips) and the theme this week is 'Something You Love'. I love Dartmoor and I love to be out there on a lovely sunny day like today. From the nearest parking place it was an easy walk along the old farm track. i didn't see anyone all the way. As I arrived there were a few ponies there. I thought that would make an interesting shot in light of the film.

It's a very great place with lots of different angles to exploit. I've added an extra and if you'd like to see a few more you can see them here.
