SIGN OF THINGS TO COME

Although its forecast for snow next week this ritual between two White Faced Herons indicated things to come.  One bird handed the stick on to the next with lots of fluttering which then took off as you see here. My guess is its going off to the nest site.. This shot made the cut - I was on the cell phone as it all eventuated. The light was also a bit against me but I was happy with this natures "Close encounter"
