Late afternoon at Polurrian Cove. 4.30pm.

This morning when we woke we couldn’t see further than the end of the garden.
There was sea mist enveloping everything.
It began to clear a bit just before lunch when we wandered down to the nearby Craft and Café centre called Mullion Meadows, to have our traditional treat when on holiday here.
A Cornish Cream Tea!
Jam first on the scone before the cream.
In Devon it’s the opposite. Cream first then the jam!
Having thoroughly enjoyed our treat we then went back to get our Leki walking poles which I find so useful when climbing up and down the steep cliff paths.
Off we then went for another walk to Poldhu Cove.
The warm vegetation along the cliffs smelt like summertime set against the vast expanse of shimmering blue sea.
Once there I had a hot chocolate with marshmallows, (which had been recommended by a gardener we were chatting to earlier) and Stephen a latté with oat milk.
We sat at one of the wooden picnic benches in the small area of sandy dunes by the Beach Café verandah, just enjoying the warmth, the sunshine, the sound of waves gently breaking on the sand, and people watching.
On our return journey we stopped and sat on a bench above Polurrian Cove beach, which is where I took the photo.
A breeze on our faces, and the wonderful view below.
We must have sat there awhile, before we came back for our tea.
Tomorrow evening we are having an overnight stop on our journey home, so will be mostly sorting out our packing and completing some tasks which are required by the Cornish Cottages because of the need for everything to be cleaned thoroughly by them before the next occupants.
We have to put all the bedsheets and towels into the bath before leaving and close the bathroom door
They put all the cutlery through the dishwasher.
When we arrived all the towels were packed and sealed into a clear polythene bag which had a tag.
They also subject the property to some kind of “fuming” process.
It was absolutely spotless when we arrived.
Wish we were staying longer!
But that’s the sign of a good holiday.
I didn’t realise how tired I was before we arrived here.
It’s going to be a lovely sunset this evening as it’s so clear.
Extra of cream tea!
