Window Box

Tony has done a great job of the window boxes and baskets this year as usual.  This is my kitchen window box so I enjoy it every day when I am busy on the worktop.

The day began with another fledgling rescue from our neighbour's garden.  The young starling appeared uninjured but was not yet flying.  Its parents were on the roof with beaksfull of worms so we watched from afar.  Unfortunately, three magpies arrived which set the alarms going amongst the smaller birds.  When they alighted on another neighbour's tv aerial, I clapped loudly and they took flight.  The fledgling found shelter in the shrubbery so we left it to its parents.  Sadly, there are so many cats around that I don't hold out much hope for it.

Angela arrived whilst we were in rescue mode so we set off around the estate for a catch up walk and finished up in Yorkshire Treats for cuppas.  I tried their raspberry eclair today, mmmmmm!  We both came away with treats for families, as did CorinthianColumn despite her attempt to avoid being seen with edible treats!

Today's honours go to our son-in-law Pete who received two job offers before lunch, well done Pete.xxx
