Watching the Game

Basil and I took a tour of Dishley Pool this afternoon after dropping Len off at tennis.  The clubhouse, which has been deserted for the last two years, was open. It looked dingey. A game was in progress. The cricket club has a large car park which I think it could open in the week, but no, the barrier stays firmly across and people wanting to reach the pool have to park on the road and duck under the poles.

Fishermen have returned now that close season is over. The majority of swans have disappeared for the time being although one of the fishermen was sure they would be back. Just six swans and a bevy of ducks that Basil chased into the water. A mother duck turned round in flight and aimed at Basil to protect her four growing ducklings. She then thought better of it and veered away.
