Otters At Last!

Up and out early and headed over to Pennygael to try for some closer SEO shots.
On the way we stopped at a Golden Eagle nest site.
A couple of guys who turned out to be locals, had enormous lenses trained on the crag so we had a chat with them. They were soon showing us incredible images of a chick at the edge of the nest.
I was amazed at how low down the nest was and its proximity to the road.
We had good views of both adult birds flying over us but no activity on the ground.
Reluctantly we left after an hour or so.
Had lunch on the side of the marshes but again not much activity so we continued on round the Loch.

Finally, after a week of searching, we saw an otter hunting. I followed it's progress from the lane and managed to hide as it came up across the beach.
We watched it for a while and then it settled on a rock out of sight.
Half an hour later another appeared briefly and went out into the Loch to hunt.
We moved onto Loch Na Keal and while there, an enormous dog otter trotted up across the boulders, across the lane and up a burn not 100m from us. It was over in a flash but so brilliant to see.
