Make Every Day Memorable

By Jorgiesmum

After a very blustery night the sun has shone for much of the day. The wind however, has still been blowing and directly from the Artic by the feel of it.
I went out today wearing a scarf, more layers than ever and wishing that I had packed gloves, hat and thermals. Scotland in June!
We went in search of an internet connection first thing and naturally gravitated towards the cheese farm cafe again. On the way we noticed a sign for Glengorm Castle so decided to take a look once JD had dealt with numerous emails.
The road was very narrow even by Mull standards and I felt sure we'd taken the wrong route. We were heading north towards the sea and as we rounded a bend, a magnificent vista opened up in front of us. The clear weather meant we could see off shore islands including Rhum and Skye( similar view in extra)
Dogs weren't allowed in the castle grounds so we walked along some of the trails.
We eventually found a hide on the shores of Loch Mingary which promised sightings of otters.
Out of the wind it felt warm in the sun so we settled down to wait for an otter or two - no sign after 2 hours.
However we were treated to a couple of WTE's flying by a few times and being harassed by a pair of buzzards
It's a huge crop but extra shows the size difference between the two raptors.

Back to Salen this evening and I had to take a photo of the old boats. I love the textures and colours of these wrecks.
