The Phoenix Rises

Loving life and food

A gorgeous  day of warm balmy weather in Dumfrieshire.
A climb to the top of the hill to see the ruined Hill Fort BC or AD 15000 depending on what sign you read. The only thing we found (Star found) was some very smelly fox poo. Suitably  perfumed, she was delighted with herself.  She wasn't too happy with the tomato sauce rinse and Fox poo shampoo (yes we do carry that in the van), but she smells a lot better now.
A tour walk around Dumfries looking for a good place for lunch. After an hour we actually  asked the owner of a new hostelry.  He apologised  for not having for, but Beer without Borders. If we are ever in Dumfries  again, in the future we might look him up. He reccomended The Boathouse at Glencaple and boy so can we now. They even have Moho overnight parking with Honesty box, right on the Nith beside the RNLI station who were out on exercises. A fabulous  lunch seafood salad for me and a Budda bowl( chicken, chickpeas,  avocado  and salad) for Ally. Superb. Guess where we are staying  tomorrow  night. Oh yes.
Back to the farm campsite at Barnsoul for another night. Services used and midges fed. A very quiet and peaceful  site.

XS.

Extras, Dumfries Nith River, Hill Fort Central at Barnsoul.
