Yellow field.

Buttercups. There were horses here recently but I understand the flowers can cause problems;‘perhaps that explains their absence today. It was warm and “close” (good Scots term). Muggy. Barely saw anyone when out. First week of school holidays too. Always like this view,
because it’s top of the track!

The highest daily number of new coronavirus cases since beginning of pandemic were reported in Scotland today; 3285 with 12% positivity. Rapidly increasing cases are almost exclusively virulent Delta variant. It seems we have sustained community transmission, with men aged 25-44 comprising the bulk of cases. We know several affected including a family member; it appears to be clusters, not just individual isolated cases. Fortunately less hospitalisation occurring (than we’d have had in earlier days), thanks to vaccination programme. A combination of freedoms and behaviours explains some of it.

The Tesco home delivery came on time.
