Grow Urban

This great little plant and garden shop is on the corner of Grove Street and Fountainbridge.  They also do coffee and cake.  It opened about six months before Covid struck so I'm pleased to hear they've opened a second shop in St Vincent Street, Stockbridge.  The shop is in a tenament building with interesting carvings that was designed by FT Pilkington in 1864.  Apparently he was a 'rogue' British architect.   He also designed Barclay Church which backs onto Bruntsfield Links.  Anyways - I pass Grow Urban almost every day going to my running group, the bowling club and the library, and the shop and building always catch my eye.

This morning's run was out along the canal to the steps down to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre, round behind Saughton Mains Allotments and back to Harrison Park.

Bowling at tea time in the Ladies Singles which is a first to score 21 points competition.  After something akin to a five set tennis match on a very warm evening the final result could not have been closer - I narrowly won 21 - 20!
