Ringlet

Yesterday's hunch was correct - the jack-up rig did get taken to Burntisland to join the 'Hawk'. Sadly, I was without a sitter so couldn't leave the house to photograph it.

My blip is a ringlet butterfly, my first for 2021, photographed yesterday. Over the coming weeks they will be seen everywhere around here as they become one of the commonest summer butterflies.  I'll try not to blip them too frequently.

The Ringlet, Aphantopus hyperantus.
