Supper Time

Every year, a pair of herring gulls (Larus argentatus) nest behind the chimney pots of the building opposite my home. This year they have two chicks. That is average at this stage though they still have a while to go before they fledge and anything can happen before then.

One parent has just regurgitated some supper for them.  The other keeps a look-out.

One building to the left, a pair of lesser black-backed gulls (Larus fuscus) are nesting but an intervening tree prevents monitoring their progress. I can only say that they have at least one chick (they had 3 last year).
