Home again

Well our epic journey was completed today after travelling about 550km from Armidale. It rained a lot of the day but on the whole the roads were good and quiet. Maybe something to do with so many people in lockdown…

I’ve done another collage to show the different terrain from high mountains to flat farm lands. We know these roads a bit better and stopped by the roadside for lunch in the van so didn’t really see anyone except for the service station where we got fuel. Bob wore a mask as per the current covid rules.

In total we drove 3847 with the van and a fair bit extra just using the car. 31 nights away. Met two old work friends, 1 sister,  2 brothers in law, 2 sisters in law,  3 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nieces and 2 great great nieces plus all their partners (and dogs). Our favourite places to stay were on private farms. We use an app called WikiCamps to find our accommodation.
Our favourite place was Fraser Island especially the scary kayak trip up the creeks. We mostly ate our own food but did have quite a few cafe meals when we felt like a change.

It has been fun sharing our trip with fellow blippers and I thank you for your comments, stars and hearts.

Tomorrow I guess I’ll be doing some laundry and cleaning out the van. We are feeling the cold after being way up north in the warm weather. First job when we got home was to turn the heating on in a very cold house.

It’s always nice to be home.
