Looking over the Cowal Peninsula and Bute

At the summit of the first hill of 3, looking out over where I camped last night - it was a long climb to get here but this turned out to be the toughest of the three. The reward for my effort was a stunning view from the top, and the ride only got more beautiful from here.

The rest of the ride through to Dunoon went through forests and deep forested valleys - at points it felt like I was cycling through northern Canada or Alaska! The roads were so quiet which meant that I could really take everything in without any distractions - it was such a perfect way to start the day.

Made it to Dunoon in good time and after a quick bite to eat caught the 11:50am ferry to Gourock - from there on out it was a mostly flat ride along the National Cycle Network which was very pleasant. Arrived back home just past 3pm to be met by a chirpy Rosie. So good to see her after almost a week away - we'll have the house to ourselves until next Thursday or Friday so will be able to spend some nice time together!

Stay safe
