An ordinary life....

...does it take to set up a parasol?

Well going by today's experience, three; two to spend ages fiddling with the damn thing, get trapped inside it and mutter the odd bad word, and one to record the incident whilst almost dropping her phone from laughing so much!

It's been a bit of a social whirl today.

David was playing golf at Cawder Golf Club with Kenny, Alan and Keith.  Ele invited Gail and I for coffee and cake, then dinner when the husbands returned.  Prior to that, Keith's wife Mairi invited us for lunch as Keith's sister Jude is home from Australia (sadly on compassionate grounds as their mum is on end of life care) so it meant we got to see Jude.

We arrived at Keith and Mairi's just after 12 noon and sat in their lovely garden enjoying delicious sandwiches and refreshing cloudy lemonade.  It was so great to see Jude.  She had a nightmare journey from Australia but felt covid safe the entire journey till she arrived at Heathrow and was shocked by how relaxed everything was in Terminal 5.

Lunch over, we headed to Ele's.  Alan and Gail were already there.  The guys headed off to Cawder and Ele, Gail and I settled down with coffee and cake before moving on to Aperol Spritz.  Very refreshing on a hot, sunny afternoon.

Ele's new parasol was fab but one garden chair was always in the sun, so Ele decided to dig out the old parasol and set it up. It proved easier said than done and being no help in situations like this, all I could do was watch, laugh, shout encouragement and take photos as Ele and Gail wrestled with the heavy parasol and fought to get it to open.   They succeeded in the end!  :-))

They guys arrived back from the golf, David happy because he'd had a great round.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner together.  Although we've seen Ele and Kenny and Alan and Gail since lockdown rules relaxed, we've not all been together at the same time, so it was good to all be together again.

We got a date in the diary at the end of the night to meet up again at Alan and Gail's later in July.   Looking forward to that :-))
