Restoration

This is the ceiling in the downstairs parlour of Holmwood House, Cathcart, Glasgow. Now meticulously restored.
We visited the house today to view the latest restoration work that has taken place since our last visit in September.
The house is cared for by the National Trust for Scotland NTS

Holmwood House, Cathcart.
Alexander "Greek" Thomson, 1857-59. Large villa in Thomson's own individual Greek revival style with extensive major interior work surviving. Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson designed the house for paper magnate James Couper and his wife. It is widely regarded as his finest domestic creation. A listed.
