Blues and yellows

Back to one of our brownfield sites on a decidedly chilly and miserable last day of the month. But the stunning colours of Viper's-bugloss, Perforate St John's-wort and Musk Thistle compensated for the dull skies. Highlight of the day was spotting a Little Owl sitting on a fence, one of three who live in a derelict building.

So that's the end of #30dayswild for another year. While the weather hasn't always been very summery, it's been a spectacular month for many wildflowers, especially orchids and annual members of the pea family. Next year I might like to have a little more time for visiting sites closer to home!
