Tankerness

Working in the afternoon, but had time to go for a cycle in the morning. I headed out from Kirkwall to Toab, hoping to find one of the two rarities reported from there in the last few day- a rose-coloured (or just 'rosy') starling, part of an invasion across the UK just now, or a turtle dove, which has suffered an incredible decline across the country and is also more of a southern bird. Needless to say, I found neither. On the way back I went via Mill Sand, then took this track that runs past Loch of Tankerness. .
