New Shades

Elaine moved into her apartment nearly two years ago and has done very little with it partly due to Covid and lockdown, partly due to living on her own for the first time after her husband died and readjusting to her new life.
A couple of weeks ago when staying with me she fell in love with a painting she saw for sale in my village and had to buy it.
We both liked the colours in it so much that l suggested she started thinking about changing the decor in her home to match some of the dominant colours in it
So today we’ve been out shopping and bought seven cushions and three ornaments in different shades of one colour.
She is on a roll now and next we will be looking at paint.

Then we went to get a selection of Sicilian street food to have for our meal tonight.
We called in at Oakwood for coffee (and cake) on the way back to hers and l liked the lampshades so that’s my only photograph for today.

After the terrific thunder and lightning we witnessed last night it’s just started raining heavily and looks like we could be getting the same again.
But we are now back at the apartment and don’t mind as we’ve managed to keep dry all day.
Put the cushions and other bits in place and the room is already getting Elaine’s stamp on it, looking so much better l think.
