Trainspotting!

The 11:20 from Lakeside to Haverthwaite approaches during a heavy rain shower.
This morning we rattled our way down to Haverthwaite on the steam railway. It was pouring down when we left, but 20 minutes later hen we arrived the sun was shining again. We then had a walk over the fell from Backbarrow to Newby Bridge for lunchtime refreshments (beer and crisps).
After lunch we climbed up to High Dam Tarn. This is an artificial tarn which was constructed in the early 19th century to power Stott Park Bobbin Mill. It was a lovely day's walking where we saw few people, and escaped getting very wet.

In today's extras: The steam train 'Victor' is topped up with water, and a peaceful view across the lilies on the tarn.
