My topsy-turvy life

Rainbow's end

Everton 2 City 0
Why, oh why, oh why...couldn't we have done this last week!
You really wouldn't believe that it was the same group(ish) of players that were so awful against Wigan.
Everton were much the better team, certainly in the first half, though City did come back into it a bit more in the second, helped partly by the sending off of Steven Pienaar -harshly I thought- with about half an hour to go. By then though the damage was done thanks to an absolute belter of a goal by Leon Osman that kept 'England's Number One' rooted to the spot. That along with the sheer confidence and desire in the performance made it all that much better. All in all just what the doctor ordered and topped off by a goal for Jelavic too...just a shame it wasn't in the Cup!

I've seen a lot of things at Goodison over the years; goalkeepers scoring, streakers, horrific fouls, hailstorms, Steven Gerrard falling flat on his arse, comedy sendings off, stunning goals, brilliant games, and more than a few games I'd rather forget, but this was a first, a rainbow inside Goodison Park!
At least we know now what's really at the end of a rainbow...

Before the appearance of the rainbow I thought the blip was going to be an addition -Joleon Lescott- to my not at all really intentional series of former Everton players...
Kevin Kilbane
Paul Gerrard
Mikel Arteta (kind of)
