Loving Legacy

Continuing on from yesterday, today was the Thanksgiving Service for the life of Dr. David Troko. Again, a huge privilege just to be there. Church packed - hundreds there (photo taken from a long way back, from between folks' heads).

Most moving part was when each of his four children gave a tribute to their Dad, and then Grace, Joy and Gayle sang his favourite song, My Tribute, with their brother, Aab, on the keyboard and some vocals as well. It was stunning.

A totally inspiring life - from a very poor family in Liberia, his Dad died when he was very young. Determined and disciplined, he became an (extremely caring) orthopedic surgeon here in Sutton - but never lost his commitment to Liberia, constantly doing all he could to help his country.

Not to mention raising four stunning children, who love and serve God and others, as he and Velma did. A truly great man.
