Doing battle!

And losing. Have spent most of the day trying to fix my Macbook because an error occurred half way through a software update last night. Several attempts at a reinstall and then what appeared to be a successful installation ... but it still won't start up! Have given up now with its last chance being someone at work who is much more of a Mac expert than me. I think it might be time for something shinier and thinner...
