Shenanigans

The big excitement here has to do with the fact that our hot water heater died late Friday afternoon, the first day of a very long holiday weekend when plumbers aren't working and supply stores have shut down for a few days. We had two houseguests, and a barbeque scheduled for Sunday night. Oh, and we're all on notice that we're using too much water during the shortage, so it's not real comfortable asking to use someone else's facilities (although I did snag a quick shower next door, thank goodness). At least we were able to keep the cold water on all this time.

Disposable one-use paper plates, which violate our wastefulness code, check. Heating water in the tea kettle and measuring every drop to clean the silverware and pots and pans, check. A splash of cold water to wake up in the morning, check. Being super glad we have a reliable plumber who arrives tomorrow morning at 830 am, check.

By this time tomorrow the problem should be solved. Grateful that we have the ways and means to take care of it, check.

By special request, there is a b&w version of the garden in Extras....
