Up Close & Personal With Some Seals

Whitby today and we parked up by the Abbey and walked south along the cliff top Cleveland Way a short way to a beach where the boys and I have been fossil hunting a few years back on an organised trip. The tide wasn’t out far enough for us to walk along the beach back to Whitby as we had done previously, so we just stayed on the beach looking for fossils..no major successes but we found a few interesting things.

After lunch in a pub in Whitby the boys and I headed out on a wildlife watching boat trip while Mr Kit (not a boat lover) took Dylan back to the cottage. We had a fabulous trip seeing dolphins and getting up close and personal with some seals. About three quarters of the way through I began to have my suspicions that something was not quite what I expected...soon to be realised when the boat dropped us into Scarborough harbour...it appeared that I had booked us a one way boat trip along the coast.

Luckily Mr Kit agreed to drive back the 50 minutes to fetch us, otherwise it would have been a very long bus trip home!

This evening, as it was such beautiful weather and our last night in Staithes, we decided to walk up the hill opposite our cottage with a bottle and some glasses to enjoy a cold glass of wine and admire the view.
