The Old Pier

I had a quick trip over the hill to Tobermory this morning and while I was there I snapped this photo and it made me think how strange it is how things change over time. In my youth, this pier was always known as The Old Pier while the one where the ferries used to tie up was called The New Pier, quite simply because of the difference in years when each was built (1814 and 1862 respectively). Today, The Old Pier seen here is called The Fishermen's Pier, presumably because it is owned and maintained by the Tobermory Fishermen's Association but I don't know when the change of name happened.
