Marveling in Marvão

Mambo's comment yesterday, "Do Blip those beautiful people again", more than happy to oblige.

Mike has Blipped the cool (in both senses of the word) place they have found for their wagon, by a stream in La Cordosera. So I'll concentrate on Marvão, where we went in the afternoon with them. I don't know whether it was more beautiful than other times, or whether it was the family being so thrilled with it, but it felt heart-stoppingly spectacular.

A record of the day because I don't want to forget...
We got to them quite late because the sat nav took us to a river crossing that we decided not to risk, so, instead of going out to lunch, Oriane made us a tuna salad, washing the lettuce in the stream, which we ate with a loaf of Mike's bread he'd baked in the morning.

Then a swim in the extremely cold, but oh so refreshing stream.

We were almost the only tourists in Marvão, so wandered mostly empty cobbled streets. Stopped at a café for beers and ice-creams. Stunned at the Moorish gardens; even Nui (2yrs),"Mummy, the flowers are shining!" They were, and the sunken fountain and the smell of lavender and the bees and the butterflies, so green, such beauty. And views all around to die for.

And talking non-stop, of course. Catching up, getting to know each other better, it was so good to see them again!

Home way after midnight, totally done in, which is why I'm Blipping the next day, plus, wanted to do it more justice than a quick Blip would have done.

Some extras.

Gratefuls:
- this family; as Mike said on the way home, God's gift to us
- beauty, the good it does me deep down, life is worth living, despite all the bad
- angel in Spain telling us where to find fuel, after midnight, everything closed
