It was Georgina’s (my young GP) funeral this morning and her husband had invited anyone who wished to come outside the church as numbers were limited inside to family and close friends due to Covid. We were asked to wear bright clothes. She had a simple wicker coffin. Paul wanted noise and a celebration of her life. We all clapped as it was carried into the church and Paul waved and saluted. About 150 were outside, some obviously young friends of the children. I thought there would be many more but Delta is on the rampage so maybe people were nervous. I stood in the street well away from anyone. The service was relayed by loudspeaker. No singing but 2 pieces by organ and Paul spoke about her character and their life together. One of the other GPs spoke eloquently about her career in medicine and 2 women friends also spoke. Unfortunately they must have been too far from the mic so we couldn’t hear. The Vicar spoke at length about Jesus and Thomas and the resurrection. It must be a great comfort to have a faith.

We drove to town to pick up the children from school then take them to cricket. Nathaniel’s group we’re from 4.45 till 5.45. Ella started at 6 till 7. It’ll be late to bed. They got hotdogs at the cricket club.

#2 daughter messaged to say her husband’s 94 year old Granny in Ireland died. The boys were a bit upset as they saw her quite recently.
