Dinner at The Wildebeest

W celebrated a significant birthday earlier this week.  Well - I say celebrated - he actually makes very little of such dates, but I felt we had to mark it.  Our days out yesterday and the day before were part of that "marking".

We couldn't go out on the actual evening of his birthday because we both had prior commitments.  And I originally booked for Wednesday evening, but - well - football!  Friday was rather booked up, but we managed to get an early dinner at The Wildebeest just down the road in Stoke Holy Cross this evening.

It was lovely food, nicely presented without being over fussy.  And good sized portions.

They serve the water in gluggle jugs, so the jug had to feature in the photo for hazelh.  We could have bought one, but were not tempted at what I considered to be an inflated price of £38.

Other than that, it was just an ordinary Friday.  We'll shortly move to the sitting room and watch Gardener's World.
