Damp Dog Walk

 We're surrounded by arable fields in our part of the world, but oats are typically seldom seen. I guess more of us are eating them these days, which can only be a good thing: even if your choice is those dreadful processed, flavoured, microwave friendly specimens.

Anyhow, beyond the unexpected oats, it's another damp evening walk with the dog in what is approaching the height of summer. Usually, we'd be basking in heat, dryness and browns by now, but this year, the vivid green is our reward for the summer rains. I gather the temperatures are unusually hot in Canada this summer - perhaps it's their turn for a dose of sun, but at approaching 50 Celcius at times, they must be suffering.
