The things we do for a photo.....!!

Had a lousy night sleep but that's probably because I knew I had to be up early if I wanted to catch a glimpse of the steam train Mayflower as it made its' way through Essex on a trip to Hastings.  The plan was to walk to our local station and catch a view there, but at 6.45 this morning, Dad decided he wanted to see it as well, so we headed off in the car to the station at Leigh On Sea for a better spot!

There was a fair crowd out to see it fly by, and then thankfully I read that it was stopping in the station for 10 minutes or so, so that meant we could make our way to a local field to see it leave from there, and there was only 4 of us in that field and didn't have very long to wait before it headed off steam bellowing out! A very lovely sight - and thankfully it didn't leave a minute or two later, when a new train came from the other direction to block our view for a short while! They do it on purpose don't they!

Home for breakfast, a spot of gardening before the rain started to fall and the plan for the rest of the day is to read/nap/eat in equal measures!! I'm done in!! Is it bedtime yet??!
