Crane Fly

When I was trying to identify which crane fly this was I found out there are nearly 100 species in the UK. So I'm somewhere between spotted and tiger at the moment....

It was taken on an evening out with my camera club to a local nature reserve - Parkhall Country Park. We didn't really get much further than around the first pond. A few of us were searching for insects on the macro front, while others found a friendly heron. Much of the night was about just meeting up and having a chat. It is good to see people in person rather than Zooming over the internet.
