Heritage Vegetables

I've had a sneaky look at what some of our Kiwi Blippers have been blipping about today.... Would you believe, you folk in the UK, they have been flipping well blipping about RAIN! Yes, the wet stuff. There are great celebrations in some parts of our country, in parts where they haven't seen rain for weeks and weeks. The world is a funny place.
Anyway, we did a little dance for joy here in Marlborough today when we got just a teeny weeny bit of rain, but hardly enough to damp the dust on the driveway.
Keith has been out tempting fate this evening by hosing parts of the garden. We are supposed to get more rain tomorrow.
Talking of gardens, I went to the Farmers' Market this morning. They were so excited at the prospect of rain that they set up the market under cover in some of the big A & P sheds. But tempting fate in their case did not work as we got no more rain to speak of.
Today's image shows off a lovely stall run by Sharyn and Neville. They call it "Heaven Scent" and they specialize in "heritage" fruit and vegetables... just the sort of stuff our grandmas and grandpas grew in their old fashioned gardens. Their product is "local, seasonal, fresh produce, spray free, and grown outdoors".. What more can one ask for?
Neville is now the President of our local Marlborough Farmers' Market and he is an extremely nice, approachable person. You are doing a good job Neville!
By the way, another of our family has taken to Blipping this very weekend. It is our lovely daughter-in-law, Kirsty, married to Jameskiw1 and living in Wales. Her Blip name is "Kirstybird". Please drop by and say hello. :-)
And please God, let it rain tomorrow....
