Egyptian Goose

Up at the Heritage Park we have dozens of Greylag and Canada Geese …… down on the Thames we saw one Greylag, many, many Canada Geese and a fair number of the beautiful Egyptian Geese.

This rather colourful goose was introduced as an ornamental wildfowl species and has escaped into the wild, now breeding successfully in the wild.

Egyptian Geese were considered sacred by the Ancient Egyptians and appeared in much of their artwork.
