Market Cross and Old Water Pump in Boroughbridge

We were out for a leisurely Sunday bike ride this morning and visited the nearby town of Boroughbridge for a coffee stop.
In the centre you can see the circular black handle for the old water pump. I don't think it still works, however, it is good to see it is still intact.
We were going to stop in Arkendale on our way back to eat our sandwiches, but an unexpected heavy rain shower caught us unawares so we keep pedalling and ate them back at home!
I sometimes think sandwiches taste better when they have been lugged around in a sandwich box for a few hours anyway ;)
