Male Broadbodied Chaser

Len suggested we head for Staunton Harold before midday for lunch as he said he'd like to get back for the Wimbledon final. We didn't arrive back  home until 5 pm although we managed to snatch TV photos of the centre court and the score thanks to 4G on my phone.

A pleasant lunch. We bought two plants in the garden centre, then strolled down to the lake where we found a seat and watched two broad bodied chaser dragonflies at the edge of the bank. Male and female were pairing. Of course, I didn't have a Zoom lens so the photo is mightily cropped.

Coots were cooting. The swans headed back to the reservoir although the female looked unwilling.

I really enjoy this weather. It's warm but not hot. The cloud cover alleviates the heat of the sun and I don't mind the odd shower or thunderstorm.
