A hoverfly enjoying the flowering leek

I noticed that at long last the leek plant, which overwintered outside the back door in an odd pot, has finally flowered. It has been trying for many weeks to shed its protective outer 'skin'.

When the sun finally began to warm the garden this morning I spotted both it and the hoverfly so I went inside for a camera. This is the first time I've seen the tiny flowers up close, and now I will have to get my tripod one day soon and try to get a proper macro shot to record its delightful detail.
