New heater

How many electricians does it take to install our new heater…..all of them. We have a new solar powered heater, a new concept in our town. The electricians hadn’t seen one before and were reading the pages of installation requirements to work out what to do and have just left after 10 hours. It needs a dedicated cable from the solar to the heat storage bricks. I’m sure other countries use something similar using solar or off peak power. We mostly need our heater on when it’s cold and there is no sunshine. This way it stores the energy for when we need it, reducing our heating bills. We hope it works.

Of course the control panel sent last week and due to arrive on Monday was inadvertently sent to Western Australia. We need to wait until they send it back this way before finishing up the installation. The unit weighs 200kg and can be set to use solar or off peak electricity and start at different times of day. We are excited to be able to use all our solar instead of sending it back to the grid.

I also have four new Down-lights in the kitchen. It’s wonderful, now I can see what I am cooking.

Covid update: Sydney had 97 new cases and now Victoria has a few from some furniture removalists who took a load down there.
