Sunshine Flowers for a Dull Day

Yesterday it poured the whole day and today was mostly dull, but dry! I took advantage of the lack of downpours to walk downtown for an appointment. On the way, I encountered these lovely sunny flowers: St. John's Wort, a white Bindweed and a tall yellow plant which makes me think that it's a variety of Hollyhock.

We've had so much rain and storms here that there is extensive flooding in some parts, rivers are overflowing their beds, lakes are spilling out and landslides are falling down on train tracks and some roads. 

Apparently summer will return this weekend and beyond!
